About the Online Poster System
|
Looking for an easy and effective way to recruit volunteers? Want to reach tens of thousands of people every month? Our Online Poster System can enable you to do all this.
By posting volunteering opportunities directly to our volunteering opportunity database, they will be advertised on do-it.org.uk and a range of other sites such as Directgov and the Community Channel.
Our database has a wider reach than many offline recruitment methods. Of our registered users about 70% are aged under-35, and 26% are from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) backgrounds.
Who it's for
The Online Poster System is aimed at national or regional organisations wanting to post opportunities to do-it.org.uk. It's an alternative to using our V-Base software.
Local organisations normally advertise their opportunities through their local Volunteer Centre, who then post these opportunities on do-it.org.uk's volunteering database on their behalf. However, local organisations in an area withouta Volunteer Centre can obtain an Online Poster account.
Local organisations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland can also apply for an account, although they should also register their opportunities with their local Volunteer Centre. Volunteer Centres in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland don't normally post opportunities to do-it.org.uk.
How it works
For an annual fee, organisations are set-up with their own password-protected account, allowing them to manage all their volunteering opportunities via the internet. If necessary, sub-accounts can be set-up for local/regional branches, shops or departments.
Organisations can store opportunities in their account and advertise them on do-it.org.uk when required. Enquiries and applications will be automatically sent to the contact of your choice.
It's a great way to manage all your opportunities and to advertise them online, getting them seen by as many people as possible and boosting your volunteer recruitment.

Features
The Online Poster System is user-friendly and accessible. It allows organisations to:
- Create sub accounts for departments/branches/regional offices that can login, manage and maintain their own opportunities;
- Post volunteering opportunities regionally and nationally;
- Save templates for opportunities or locations;
- Standardise data.
The Online Poster System is:
- Unique – it's the only place where you can post your opportunities across the UK;
- Flexible – organisations can create a main account to post directly on do-it.org.uk, and unlimited sub-accounts for branches/shops/departments to login, manage and maintain their own data;
- Accessible – access your account anytime, anywhere you have access to the internet;
- Easy to use – training is available, as well as a technical support helpline, online FAQs and a user guide;
- Continually evolving – our partners are stakeholders who we involve with the ongoing development of the scheme to ensure it continues to meet needs.
Support and training
A range of Online Poster System support is available, including a local rate support helpline, FAQ, training notes, and user guide.
Training for the Online Poster System is available at YouthNet's London offices. New Online Poster account holders are entitled to a training session for one delegate inclusive of the membership fee. Further training and tailored training is also available.
Membership User Group
We convene a Membership User Group to help drive the development of our services, including the Online Poster System. For example, we are working towards bringing the Online Poster System and our V-Base software closer together and will be consulting Members and Partners on that.
